Obama has made a change in the way he conducts his campaign. For the first time ever, he ran a negative television ad against his opponent, John McCain, attacking the Republican for this energy policies. Stating “On gas prices, John McCain’s part of the problem,” Obama went onto dispute that the ad was negative.

Since the last congressional elections, the number of Hispanics voting has increased. This is good news for the Democrats and Barack Obama, who could receive more votes in the election as a result of this higher Hispanic turnout. A recent government report shows that from 2002 to 2006, 18% more Hispanics took to the polls than before. In states like Florida, New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada that had previously been Bush strongholds, McCain could have a harder time winning because of the new Hispanic strength. This is good news for the Obama camp, but we’ll have to wait until the election and see how things actually pan out.

As it turns out, San Diego Country officials have been mailing tax notices to McCain regarding his La Jolla property, an oceanfront condo, for four years without response. County records reveal the bills, which were sent to an address in Phoenix associated with Mrs. McCain’s trust, were returned to sender by the post office.
