Obama Ad Attacks McCain on Energy

Obama has made a change in the way he conducts his campaign. For the first time ever, he ran a negative television ad against his opponent, John McCain, attacking the Republican for this energy policies. Stating “On gas prices, John McCain’s part of the problem,” Obama went onto dispute that the ad was negative.

Hispanic Voters Source of Strength in Battleground States

Since the last congressional elections, the number of Hispanics voting has increased. This is good news for the Democrats and Barack Obama, who could receive more votes in the election as a result of this higher Hispanic turnout. A recent government report shows that from 2002 to 2006, 18% more Hispanics took to the polls than before. In states like Florida, New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada that had previously been Bush strongholds, McCain could have a harder time winning because of the new Hispanic strength. This is good news for the Obama camp, but we’ll have to wait until the election and see how things actually pan out.

McCain Defaults on Taxes for Four Years

As it turns out, San Diego Country officials have been mailing tax notices to McCain regarding his La Jolla property, an oceanfront condo, for four years without response. County records reveal the bills, which were sent to an address in Phoenix associated with Mrs. McCain’s trust, were returned to sender by the post office.

After Florida Primary, I watched “Hillary The Movie” with a group of friends. I was astonished at how objective the movie was. It laid out all factual scandal with reports from first-hand witnesses. Be cautious, however, as this documentary could very well increase any dislike you have about Hillary Clinton. Although my friends and I tend to lean towards the left, we loved how objectively this movie was made, we thought it was objective enough and worth the watch. Will “Hillary The Movie” ruin Clinton’s chances at being elected? Probably not. But whether you support her or not, it’s well worth the hour and a half it takes to watch.

Bloomberg has an interesting piece about a recent attack against Democrat Barack Obama from John McCain, who said Obama has gone back on his word by promising to accept public financing during the general election and then opting not to. On June 19, Obama announced that he would not take public financing for his presidential campaign, stating that he could raise far more than the $84.1 million he would get in government funds. Straight Talk Express Takes to the Skies

The McCain camp has accounced that on Monday, Senator John McCain will unveil his new plane, which will carry the same name as his current bus, The Straight Talk Express. The airplane in question will be modified Boeing 737-400, and will seat 95 people. “The Straight Talk Express” will be visible on the side of the plane.

The Straight Talk Express is famous for being all McCain, all the time. The campaign bus, famous from his past campaign, is centered around promoting the Arizona Senator and giving him a way to travel around the country.

Priest Returns to Duties After Making Hillary Snub

The Rev. Mike Pfleger, a Catholic priest who was suspended for ten days for making highly offensive and controversial remarks regarding Hillary Clinton, has returned to his duties today. Catholic priests are generally not allowed to discuss politics while on the pulpit, so his remarks came as a surprise to many Catholics. Commenting on his situation, the priest said,” Let this time be a teaching moment for us to hear the Lord, to grow closer to him and become even stronger to build a kingdom on Earth as it is in heaven,”

Support of Obama from Clinton Camp Not 100%

Despite having endorsed Obama several days earlier, many Clinton supporters have vowed not to support Senator Barack Obama, who is likely to be the Democractic nominee for the ‘08 election. This lack of support behind Obama for Clinton is bad news for the Democrats. These voters could very well either end up not voting in the election, or cast their ballot for McCain. Look back in history, and you’ll see that there has never been an election where the Democrats were divided and their candidate won.
